SPOT Mobile Clinic
Mission: Grounded in humanism, social justice, and harm reduction, we aim to reduce health disparities and improve wellness by providing a continuum of low-barrier, stigma-free, and person-centered health care and social services created for people who use drugs and people experiencing homelessness.
Who we are: The Spot is an integrated health team established in 2018 through a public-private partnership between the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Baltimore City Health Department.
What we do: The Spot provides free, low-barrier, integrated healthcare in communities affected by overdose including:
- Treatment for opioid use disorder: low-barrier buprenorphine
- HIV: testing, rapid treatment initiation, pre-exposure prophylaxis
- Hepatitis C: rapid testing and treatment
- Sexual health: STI testing and treatment
- Wound Care: Treatment of wounds and skin and soft-tissue infections associated with injection drug use
- Vaccinations: Covid-19, flu, hepatitis A&B
- Mental Health: Screening and treatment for anxiety and depression, referral to therapy and specialty care
- Harm Reduction: Naloxone distribution and syringe services
- Case management: Support for Medicaid enrollment, linkage to primary care and mental health services, housing, transportation, and social services
