About

The Maternal and Infant (M&I) Care Program visits pregnant women and infants who live in Baltimore City in their homes to help improve their health. Services are provided by nurses, social workers and community outreach workers free of charge

Eligibility

In order to be enrolled for services, doctors and other providers send referrals or women may contact Health Care Access of Maryland directly. Persons with high-risk criteria are referred to M&I for enrollment into the program; others are referred to other services.

Services

  • Help with making and keeping prenatal care and pediatric appointments
  • Care coordination with medical providers
  • Guidance and support throughout the pregnancy and infancy
  • Parenting assistance and child development guidance
  • Family planning education, counseling, and services
  • Screening and treatment referrals for sexually transmitted infections
  • Referrals to other needed services
